HISTORY

VIDA Software was founded in 2001 by Rafael del Valle with the main objective of improving the relationship between mobile users and the endless sea of mobile services starting to hit the market.

At that time, market studies conducted by major telcos determined that the problem did not actually lie with the applications themselves. The actual problem was one of usability, or more specifically, the user encountered problems communicating with constrained devices. Natural Interaction™ became the proprietary technology developed to address this problem.

The first trial projects counted on the collaboration of up to 5 industry experts (all of whom are now private investors: Patrick Lidstone, Ricardo Gomez-Ulmke, Juan Campos, Alvaro Sancho, Vincenzo Marchese) followed by Research Institutions (Salle), Public Institutions (CDTI, Several Ministries, CIDEM) and Institutional Investors(La Caixa, Invertec).

In 2005, after 13 successful trials for 3 leading telecommunication companies and 1 financial institution, VIDA Software’s Natural Interaction technology – and the European market – matured. In the second quarter of 2005, the first deployment projects were kicked off and the VIDA Software Partner Programme was born to nurture the diverse ecosystem that VIDA envisioned.

Today VIDA Software works with customers like Telefonica Moviles, Orange, Vodafone to name a few. The ecosystem includes RAD Vision, Nokia Forum PRO and Symbian and partners like Indra, InfoSpeech and Teleca.
